C. J. Jimenez (they/he) is a creative generalist based in New York City. Their work often begins with seeing the ordinary in a new light — a shift in perspective they hope will spark one for others as well.

For nearly two decades, CJ has worked in theatre as a multi-hyphenate theatre technician and has more recently added playwright, actor and aerialist to the list. Beyond the stage, their curiosity has led them down many unexpected adventures. From renovating homes, coaching skiing and rock climbing, managing a dog-walking company, and even living aboard a sailboat with no prior sailing experience.

Each of these experiences informs their artistic practice, grounding their work in adaptability, resourcefulness, and an enduring sense of play. At the heart of CJ’s work is queer storytelling. Whether through theatre, movement, or making something tangible, their goal is to create work that resonates, opens conversations, and builds connection.
